Embracing the Changing Seasons

As we transition to September, we witness the changing of the seasons. For some, this can come in the form of shorter days and leaves turning a stunning orange hue. For others, it can mean the emergence of blossoming flowers after the colder, darker months. The changing seasons are a time of transition and transformation, exemplifying nature's innate wisdom and resilience. So, rather than lamenting the end of one season, let's embrace change and appreciate the distinct beauty and opportunities each brings. This month, join us in celebrating the upcoming equinox, symbolising balance, equality, and harmony, and wherever you are, take a moment to connect with and honour nature and the seasonal flow.

We Don't Just Count Trees...

In the past, our primary impact measurement was the number of trees planted, but this didn't even begin to tell the story of our work and the impact of your support. Supporting us means supporting a greener, more sustainable and equal world. A world that protects and nurtures for the benefit of all.

Biodiversity Counts...

Tropical forests host unparalleled biodiversity, housing an abundance of unique and endangered species often found nowhere else on Earth. By strategically working in these areas, we play a crucial role in protecting these invaluable ecosystems, providing a sanctuary for numerous plant and animal species, and offering them protection, food, and vital breeding grounds. As these ecosystems flourish, they create a ripple effect, fostering the resilience of biodiversity on a global scale. Learn about your incredible role in restoring biodiversity, and make your donation count by becoming a TreeSisters monthly donor today.

Restoration & Planting Projects

Spotlight on... the Irangi Forest, Mt Kenya

Two women smiling and holding trees in our Kenyan restoration project

We are thrilled to share that our Kenyan project's tree planting with partner ITF has been hugely successful this year! The local team has successfully planted an incredible 180,000 trees, with a favourable rainy season resulting in excellent tree survival rates. Five thousand agroforestry trees were also distributed to small groups of women working within the nurseries. There is an exceptionally high demand for these trees, particularly avocado and mango, as they empower community members to grow their businesses and provide food and fuel for their families.

We’ve been told the teams are looking forward to next year's planting season and have started preparing seedlings for it already. Through your donations, TreeSisters has supported this project since 2016, as it consistently evolves to meet the needs of the landscape and local communities. We couldn't be more excited about this progress and how this project grows.

Amendment to Trees Funded Figure

If you have been keeping an eye on our latest funded tree figure, you may have noticed a slight decrease. This was due to a human error inputting one of our records, which we have identified and corrected. We want to be transparent and let you know about this, but please know that we have since implemented improved monitoring measures to prevent similar mistakes from happening in the future. Thank you for your continued support of TreeSisters.
