TreeSisters November Newsletter

Solstice blessings to you and yours!

The December solstice, also known as the winter solstice in the Northern Hemisphere and the summer solstice in the Southern, occurs when the Earth's axis is tilted farthest away or closest to the sun. For those of us in the North, it marks the official start of winter and is the shortest day of the year. It has been celebrated by cultures around the world for thousands of years as a time of renewal, reflection, and introspection. It is a time to honour the power of rest and rejuvenation and the importance of connections with loved ones and community. Whether, or however, you celebrate all of us here at TreeSisters wish you peace, love, and abundance this solstice and beyond.

So, what do we want to see from this COP, what are we concerned about, and what would you do if you had the opportunity to make pledges to protect our natural world?

Restoration Partnerships Manager Madeleine explains how the project is not only improving soil and stabilising riverbanks in an area where landslides are common but also successfully shifting power dynamics among women and men in the region.
