🌱 This Earth Day, Double Your Impact with the Big Give Green Match Fund

From 12pm (midday) on Tuesday 22nd April to 12pm on Tuesday 29th April (BST), all donations to TreeSisters through the Big Give Green Match Fund will be doubled — at no extra cost to you.

This is a powerful moment to deepen your impact for Nature. Whether you’re a long-time treesister or newly discovering our work, your gift during this week will go twice as far — helping us restore tropical forests, grow community, and inspire Nature connection across the globe.

Below, we’ve gathered some FAQs to guide you through the campaign.

The Big Give Green Match Fund is a campaign that doubles donations to charities working on environmental issues through match funding. It's a collaboration between the Environmental Funders Network (EFN) and The Big Give. The campaign aims to increase funding for environmental organisations, incentivise public giving, and raise the profile of philanthropy. TreeSisters are taking part in this campaign and are grateful to The Big Give Trust for providing match funding.

Our incredible network of monthly givers provides vital, ongoing support that sustains TreeSisters' work all year round. These regular donations help us plan ahead, grow our impact, and remain resilient in the face of change.

The Big Give Green Match Fund, however, is a special, time-limited campaign running for just seven days — from 12pm (midday) on 22nd April to 12pm on 29th April (BST). During this period, any donation you make through the campaign will be matched, meaning it will be doubled by a champion funder — making your impact even greater.

Funders, also called Champions, and Pledgers.

A Champion can include high-net-worth individuals, foundations, philanthropists, trusts, statutory bodies, companies and more. A Pledger is anyone in the charity’s network. This may include a trustee, foundation, trust, company, volunteer, high-net-worth individual and others. A mixture of these two types of funders will be matching the donations. To learn more, please visit the Big Give Green website.

£12,000 – Restoration projects implementation, management and evaluation

£2,400 – Developing learning and engagement materials to support Nature connection

£1,600 – Towards our core running costs, including fundraising, communication and financial management

No. Donations through the Big Give can be completed from anywhere in the world, however, gifts must be made in GBP. The Big Give cannot provide a tax receipt for US based donors, although they are aiming to make this a possibility in the future.

Unfortunately, as the Big Give Green is UK based and only accepts donations in GBP, we cannot provide a tax receipt.

We are considering a specific match funding campaign specifically for our US based supporters later in the year which will allow for appropriate tax receipts. If you’d be interested in a US match fund campaign, please email support@treesisters.org with the subject “US MATCH” so we can gauge interest.

Only donations made through the Big Give platform during the campaign period 12pm (midday) 22nd April to 12pm (midday) 29th April (BST) will be matched.

Donations can be made using a debit/credit card and Apple Pay and Google Pay. The following card types are accepted: Mastercard / Visa / Maestro / Switch / Solo / Delta / American Express. Please note for international banks, an additional transfer fee may be applicable.

UK supporters can also donate by bank transfer through the Donation Funds system although there are some additional administrative requirements - please contact support@treesisters.org as soon as possible if you would like to donate via this route.

At the moment the Donation Funds system only supports UK bank accounts. For donors that do not have a UK bank account, they will need to use a debit or credit card to make their donation. We have raised this with Big Give and hope to have an option for international donors in the future.

Funds received during the campaign are restricted to the information outlined in the application until the charity has hit its target. If a charity receives additional online donations after hitting its target, these funds may be unrestricted. Charities may use the campaign to raise unrestricted funds as long as it meets the eligibility requirements.

Amazing! Thank you for your support. Once the campaign has opened at midday (BST) on April 22nd (Earth Day) you can donate here: https://donate.biggive.org/campaign/a05WS000001iUJZYA2
