Alvaro Andres Castelblanco
he/him
Restoration Coordinator
Alvaro has ten years of experience working with Environmental and Collective Rights at the Colombian Ombudsman for Human Rights, where he focused on environmental governance, ecosystem conservation and protection of communities affected by environmental degradation. There, he developed experience coordinating environmental and conservation-related programmes from a human rights perspective. Throughout his career he has been motivated by work that delivers environmental outcomes while also strengthening communities self-determination. He believes that restoration should be delivered alongside women and indigenous communities, recognising that long term environmental success depends on local leadership and social justice.
