VEGAN TREE CAKES.

To make a tree out of your 12 fairy cakes:

  1. Mix vegan butter with icing sugar to form a smooth buttercream (see recipe above).

  2. Split out two cakes worth of buttercream and set aside.

  3. Add a few drops of green food colouring to your bowl of buttercream and blend until you achieve your desired colour.

  4. Ice 10 of your cakes in green. These will form the leaves of your tree.

  5. Add some cocoa powder to the remaining buttercream and blend until smooth.

  6. Ice the remaining two cakes in buttercream icing. These will form the trunk of your tree.

  7. Display the cakes on a plate in a tree-shaped design.

  8. If you like, you can add critters to your tree by adding gummy worms to some of your tree cakes.

  9. Want to make a bigger tree? Simply bake more cakes!

To make a mini forest:

  1. Mix butter with icing sugar to form a smooth buttercream (see recipe above).

  2. Add a few drops of green food colouring to your bowl of buttercream and blend until you achieve your desired colour.

  3. Ice your fairy cakes in a tall tower of green buttercream so that each cake looks like a fir tree.

  4. Same as above, feel free to decorate by adding gummy worms, or make some owls, birds or flowers - let your creative juices flow.
