Our plan is to help make it normal for everyone to give money for trees every month, to help reforest the tropics - and, it is so much more. This is as much about the empowerment of women as it is about reforestation.
TreeSisters is an invitation to pitch your energies towards the creation of a world that values both women and nature as a new norm.
Our two primary areas of work are:
1. to engage and empower diverse women to join, spread and amplify the movement with their own creativity, experience and courage
2. to co-create a meta-reforestation strategy with existing tree organisations to lay out a plan for how to help reforest the tropics within 10 years
We are right at the beginning. Our campaign updates, will tell you where we are with it all!
100,000 women each giving $15/month could plant 24 million trees in India in a single year. Rather than helplessly watching the weather go crazy, we can actively build this network and work towards the future that we want.
The action we need right now is to spread the word and encourage everyone we know to join in and help us build this thing, right now at the beginning when it's needed the most!

TreeSisters will become whatever the network creates; it's up to us to know what we love to do and how we can offer that towards the cause!
Initially when you donate, your funds will support the development of the campaign. Once we are sustainable, the proportion of funds going to our tropical beneficiaries will increase until we are giving them 95% of all monies raised.
We have chosen the Green Belt Movement, Project GreenHands and The Pachamama Alliance because of their exemplary, replicable social strategies. Your donations will help them do their vital work supporting local communities to plant and protect millions of trees.
