Imagine... a global network of women working together to support the greatest shift of behaviour that humanity has ever seen - the shift from dominating life, to honouring and co-creating with nature; the shift away from patriarchal dominance to balanced leadership that values the feminine and seeks to protect life on Earth.
Women are wired to collaborate, to care take, to serve the community, to ensure well being and to lead from the heart. Our qualities and leadership are needed now more than ever. TreeSisters is about harnessing our gifts to bring about the scale of change needed to rebalance our relationship with nature, and ensure the safety of our children.
Our core message is that we can no longer just ‘take’ from the planet without thought for consequence. We all need to start giving back. ‘Giving back’ needs to become as normal as taking has become, and our primary goal is to inspire people to start giving back through millions of trees.
So...
Imagine every single person that you know, giving money for trees every month. If that seems a tall order consider this: we all take from the planet every day and what do we give back? We all heat up the planet through emissions every day, and what do we do to cool her down? Inaction through ignorance is one thing, but we know the consequences that we’re creating.
Trees bring life back in so many ways, and they cool things down so they answer both issues. It’s the simplest most logical step that every one of us could take that could rapidly stack up to new forests being planted every month. It’s a small ask that could make a world of difference. One simple monthly gesture by enough of us and we could transform this world. Making this a new ‘norm’ is the core mission of TreeSisters.

What you will get once we launch
TreeSisters will provide an interactive web presence, virtual tools and real-world events to bring women together. Our new web site will offer you practical tools to help you make the difference.
Consideration: waking up and facing facts
A ‘confessional space’ exploring denial and breakthroughs, fact sheets with ‘what we need to know’ about climate change and our natural world and links to films, books, animations etc
Encouragement: supporting each other and building the network
A message board (discussion, ideas, feedback), an interactive map, stories from the field (from indigenous women via our tropical beneficiaries) and newsletters
Intimacy: resourcing yourself through nature and personal growth
Practical ways to connect with nature, access to leading teachers in diverse areas of personal growth and a calendar of related workshops, retreats and TreeSister events
Responsibility: taking action to protect the environment
Easy monthly donations for trees, access to ethical suppliers and retailers, existing local green initiatives and conservation organisations, school packs for mobilised mums and teachers
Courage: stepping up and offering one’s gifts towards the cause
Stories of breakthrough, activism/causes/new ideas to support and a database for nature-related children’s stories, art, videos etc
The campaign will develop and build as different women add their ideas and experience and we discover what’s really wanted and what works best.

There are many ways to give; your ideas, your creativity, your leadership, your positivity, your willingness to grow and change. Our hope is that every treesister will want to find some way of giving back to the planet.
When you donate to treesisters, your money will support both trees and sisters. Initially, your funds will support the development of the campaign. Once we are sustainable, the proportion of funds going to our tropical beneficiaries will increase until we are giving them 75% of all monies raised. (The remaining 25% will be split between local conservation, womenʼs social justice and tree sister campaigns).
The Green Belt Movement, Project GreenHands and The Pachamama Alliance have been chosen because of their exemplary, replicable social strategies. Your donations will help them do their vital work in the field supporting the local communities to plant and protect millions of trees.
