There are three main reasons that we have launched this temporary site, so long before we actually plan to publicly launch (mid 2012) with an event:

1. to get the idea out and start building the network, so that the possibility that it represents has already had time to incubate in the minds of women all around world prior to our call for action

2. to engage as many women as possible in the creation of campaign content, so that our web site and launch event reflect the participation and creativity of many different women

3. to support the fundraising process by inspiring monthly payments towards crowd funding and to inform potential philanthropists and sponsors about our initiative

This is all part of the experiment of trying new ways of doing things in order to find new solutions. So, if you are part of a network that you feel would want to know that this is happening, please send out our film, or a link to our blog or to our facebook page and sound a rallying call to all women who might want to get involved in something audacious!

Finding ways of bringing women together to build the network is going to be crucial to our success, so if you are moved by this call, and regularly gather with women, we would love you to get involved. We are also going to need to work with many women of power and influence in all arenas of life, and welcome any connections and introductions that could support the campaign.

Fundraising is also vital at this stage, and we are keen to invite women (and men) everywhere to start donating every month to help build that rhythmic gifting that ultimately will be the heart beat of the whole campaign. It can seem odd donating to something in its infancy before its outward story and form are fully formed, but there is also a gift in being there at the start and helping something to birth. Pre launch donors of £5 or £50,000 are both founding funders who will be able to look back years from now and know that they contributed to the birthing of something glorious. Funding assured, we intend to launch the full web site in December 2011 or Jan 2012,and then launch the campaign fully mid way through next year with an international event based in Bristol.
